Our promises
What the assistant will and won’t do when it answers a clinic’s WhatsApp.
-
No medical advice.
It’s built not to advise on medicines or doses, or to say what a symptom might mean. Patients are asked to check with their doctor and can be offered an earlier appointment.
-
Urgent means urgent.
It’s built to spot messages that sound like an emergency and tell the patient straight away to call 112 or the clinic.
-
Help in a crisis.
It's built to reply straight away with emergency and mental-health helpline numbers when a message suggests a crisis.
-
A person on request.
Patients who ask for a person are passed to the clinic’s team, who reply in the same chat. If the clinic is closed, the patient is told when the team will be back.
Patient privacy
- Told up front, asked first. Patients are told up front that they’re talking to an automated assistant, and they agree before the assistant helps them.
- Stop at any time. Patients can reply STOP at any time to stop messages.
- Ask for erasure. Patients can send DELETE MY DATA to ask for their data to be erased.
- Where records are kept. Patient records are stored in India. To write replies, messages are processed by our AI providers outside India, and WhatsApp (Meta) keeps its own copies of messages outside India. Patients are told this before they agree. Patient data notice
- Only what’s needed. We keep personal details out of AI processing wherever we can, and use only what’s needed to answer a message.
- Encrypted. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and patients' messages and visit reasons are encrypted again with a separate key for each clinic.
Clinic control
- Each clinic sees only its own patients.
- Each team member gets access that fits their role.
- Access to patient chats is logged for the clinic owner to review.
Who is responsible
In plain words: your clinic decides how its patients’ data is used, and Clinirise handles it on the clinic’s behalf under a written agreement.
In legal terms: under India’s data protection law, the clinic is the “Data Fiduciary” and Clinirise is a “Data Processor”.
How long we keep data
How long data is kept, and what happens to it afterwards, is set out in our privacy policy.
If something goes wrong
We notify affected clinics and the authorities as the law requires.
Questions and complaints
Questions or complaints about patient data can go to the clinic, or to our grievance officer. We reply within 30 days.
